Pleasure Doing Business…

{dress, Pleasure Doing Business}

New favorite line.

I have never been a fan of bandage clothing (so not me) but these dresses are amazing.  As usual, I am a fan of the fit and flare.  I have my eye on another cream and pale pink one…

Perfect for date night with The Boyfriend, bourbon cocktails at our favorite bar.

Date Night…Dinner at Home

To say things have been a little hectic lately would be an understatement.

I wanted to do something nice for The Boyfriend so I planned a nice evening in.

I made a spinach/artichoke puff pastry appetizer followed by New Orleans style BBQ shrimp (apparently does not involve actual BBQ sauce but an hour long creole sauce from scratch- should have invested more time in google before agreeing to make this) and jalapeño cheese grits.

 But most importantly…I slaved hours over dessert.

Spring is here…

I love this time of year.

This season is one of the busiest for me at work, and lately I have been going to work before the sun comes up and leaving after sunset.  That coupled with the fact my building has no windows (prison?) it was quite a shock for me to emerge yesterday afternoon and be able to enjoy the sun.

The Boyfriend and I found a quiet patio had a margarita.  In the sun.

It was amazing…

Date Night…Cocktail Parties & Red Lipstick

We attended another engagement shower last night and since I’m addicted to throwing parties, I had everyone over for drinks first.

I wore an insanely bright and elaborately sequined dress so (of course) why not wear red lips as well.

$6 later from target I was ready to go…

Date Night…Valentine’s Day Glitter

{Essie- Sand Tropez & A Cut Above}

I was in Vegas for Valentine’s Day so The Boyfriend and I postponed celebrating until last night.  We had drinks at a fun bar and dinner at one of our favorite restaurants..

Sadly I am one of those girls that wears pink (it is my favorite color) so I put on glitter Loubous, glitter polish (thanks to my Target extravaganza the other day) and a backless pink lace dress and was ready to go.

After the longest week ever, I just wanted a little fun…

Date Night…

{dress, Cynthia Steffe; jewels, M Elizabeth}

Things have been a little crazy lately with everyone traveling, work, all my markets, etc, so we decided to have a nice afternoon/evening to ourselves.

The weather was nice(ish) this weekend, so The Boyfriend and I headed out for some patio drinks and a nice dinner.  Which ended up being followed up with dancing at an 80’s bar.

Sometimes you just need a night out…

Date Night…Homemade Pasta

What a mess.

Last year The Boyfriend wanted to started making homemade pizzas.  Not only homemade dough but homemade mozzarella (messy and gross).

This year The Boyfriend has moved onto homemade pastas so we spent the night in, opened a bottle of wine and gave it a go.

{fettuccine & thyme brown butter}

I swear Youtube can teach you anything…

Date Night…Mad Men Style

Having this week off has been a little unnerving…  Not that I would rather be at work but it’s been hard to find things to fill my days.

I feel like I’m in the cast of Mad Men, waiting at home for The Boyfriend to get off work.  So I decided to embrace it; I threw on a date night dress, my 5 inch cheetah Loubous and met him for a martini.

I had gone by a little café & bakery earlier in the day and picked up dinner (wasn’t feeling that domestic).  I ordered caesar button mushrooms, feta orzo and tomato and zucchini casserole (such is the life in dating a vegetarian).

Oh and for dessert…

little peanut butter and choco cupcakes from Society Bakery.

Date Night…Post Market Wine Date

{Piola Restaurant}

I have been working Dallas Market since Wednesday and last night was the first night I made it home in time to have dinner with The Boyfriend.

We went to one of my favorite places, it’s located in a little house in the middle of a residential neighborhood  so the atmosphere is quaint and really comfortable.  And the food is delicious (as are the martinis). It was so late that the restaurant was almost cleared out but that just made it more fun.

I was exactly what I needed after such a long week…
